Robert Owen Academy Prom 2017

Year 11 students had their end of year Prom at Aylestone Court Hotel on Friday 26 June 2017.   “The students all looked amazing and I was so proud of them” said Teaching Assistant. Michele Cooper, who had worked with the students to organise their Prom.  Mrs Storer, Parent, said “Lovely that it was such an intimate venue.  Her daughter Chloe looked lovely and she said what a brilliant night it was.”

Prom Queen was awarded to Saffron James, who was shocked at receiving the award.   Saffron’s father said “I can’t believe how much my daughter has come out of her shell and want to say how brilliant the school is.  Thank you for giving me my daughter back.”

Prom King was awarded to James Hobby.  James said “It was a brilliant evening, it was great fun and really nice having all the teachers there.”

The Principal, Mr Paul Cordey presented alternative awards to each student, as voted for by staff, causing much laughter from staff and students alike.  The DJ, year 12 student Max Symmonds did an awesome job, and got students and staff dancing together.

Students and staff at Robert Owen Academy wish to thank all the staff at Aylestone Court Hotel for once again welcoming us and hosting our Prom. A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.  Owners, Jo and Michael commented how ‘utterly charming’ the students were and said that they looked forward to seeing us again for next years Prom.
