KS4 (years 10 & 11) Students – Uniform

GIRLS

• Black tailored trousers which must be of a non-clingy material and show the shape of the trouser not the leg. No black jeans, leggings or ‘skinny’ style trousers. Alternately a black skirt which must be of a non-clingy material and with definite ‘corners’, showing the shape of a skirt, rather than the shape of a leg.

• White long sleeved shirt plus academy tie (Winter), or White open necked short-sleeved shirt (Summer)

• Black blazer with academy logo attached to the breast pocket.

• Girls should wear black socks or thick black tights.
BOYS

• Black tailored trousers which must be of a non-clingy material and show the shape of the trouser not the leg. No black jeans, or ‘skinny’ style trousers.

• White long sleeved shirt plus academy tie (Winter), or, White short-sleeved shirt plus academy tie (Summer)

• Black blazer with academy logo attached to the breast pocket.

ALL STUDENTS

Shoes

All students should wear sensible completely black shoes (no logos or differently-coloured trimmings) with low heels. Shoes must not be made of canvas or be open toed.

Coats

Coats should be a plain colour and of an ‘outdoor’ nature, suitable for keeping the wind and cold out on a walk to school. Sweatshirt-type material, sports tops and hooded tops are not allowed, even as an inner layer. If students are cold, we ask them to wear a proper coat over their school jumper. Denim jackets are not allowed.

Make up

Discreet makeup is allowed.

Jewellery

The only jewellery allowed is one small stud earring per ear. Hooped earrings are not permitted. To keep students safe and minimize the risk of loss, no other jewellery is allowed. Students are not to wear any facial or body piercings including nose, tongue and eyebrow piercings. If a student has any such piercings, they will be asked to remove the jewellery, even if the hole grows over. One charity band may be worn.

Hair Colour

Natural colour hair only. Non-natural colours are not acceptable.

Sports Uniform

ALL STUDENTS

• Black/green sports polo
• Black/green sports shorts (boys) / skort (girls) or plain black tracksuit bottoms
• Black/green ¼ zip fleece
• Black socks

 

Post 16 Students – Dress Code

ALL STUDENTS

Should wear smart business dress at all times unless they are working in a specific vocational area which requires a uniform or personal protective Equipment (PPE) in which case this should be worn.

 

The Robert Owen Academy reserves the right to send students home or isolate them where uniform or appearance is deemed inappropriate.
